Hybrid broker moves new headquarters into the office tower “Spreeturm”

Building is let around 80 percent

High demand for dynamic office market “Mediaspree”


Berlin, 06.02.2020. NAS Invest has leased more than 4,500 square metres of space in the office tower “Spreeturm” to McMakler on a long-term basis. The hybrid broker will move into its new headquarters in the “Mediaspree” urban quarter in August 2020. McMakler is the second established and rapidly growing technology company moving into the “Spreeturm”. NAS leased around 5.200 square metres to software developer HubSpot a few month ago.

NAS Invest acquired the landmark property from the DWI Group in February 2019. It comprises 13,500 square metres of representative office space and is currently around 80 percent let. NAS is fully on schedule with its marketing strategy. Marketing for the last available spaces will be completed in the first half of 2020.

70-meter-high “Spreeturm” marks one of the largest office properties in the “Mediaspree”. The area comprises around 180 hectares with space for working, living, gastronomy, shopping and leisure. It is located at a central position on both banks of the river Spree between Ostbahnhof and Warschauer Strasse. The local office market is one of the most dynamic in Berlin. Companies like BASF, Zalando, Daimler, Coca-Cola and Universal Music have offices in the neighborhood. The modern quarter attracts more and more tech companies. Technology giant Amazon rented more than 50,000 square metres in the “Mediaspree” in 2019.

McMakler explains the move to the new offices with strong personnel growth. Until now, the Berlin employees have been working in smaller offices spread over several locations. With the new headquarter, these offices will be bundled in the “Spreeturm” on a total of seven floors. The flexible and connected spaces on floors six to twelve give McMakler the necessary flexibility for further, long-term growth.
